There’s No Place like Home, says Summer 4-H Assistant

She loves her home state of South Dakota, particularly West River and the Black Hills at that.

That makes it extra gratifying to her that she can work in her hometown, says Brooke Schroeder, a college student who is with the 4-H office here in the Tripp County courthouse, Winner, through the summer.

She’s the daughter of former long-time Tripp County sheriff Chip Schroeder. Her mother is Lisa Schroeder.

Dealing with children as opposed to young adult college students is an interesting change for her, Schroeder said.

Exercising patience is something that’s required. “Being a little more observant” is also needed, she added.
