The Colome Elementary held their annual track and field day on April 30th. The weather was just right with sun and little breeze. The athletes were represented in grades by team t-shirts. Instead of passing out ribbons, the t-shirts were given in place and it served as a nice way to identify each class.The first graders were in purple, the second grade were in teal, the third grade were in green, the fourth grade were in pink, the fifth grade in blueThere are 9 events held during the day, and each female and male athlete is given the opportunity to compete for the Best Male Athlete and Best Female Athlete.
The Best Female Athlete was Preslie Petersek, 5th grade, and the Best Male Athlete was a tie between Eli Vobr, 5th grade, and Seth Heath, 4th grade. Chin-ups are also recognized as a great accomplishment. The girls Chin-Up champion was JadeLynn McCall, 2nd grade, with 13; and boys Chin-Up was Coy Shelbourn, 3rd grade, with 20. The fifth graders competed against their own class while first and second grades competed against each other and third and fourth grades against each other. 5th Grade High Jump: First Bridget Eliason with a jump of 3’ 8”, followed by Preslie Petersek, Adysen Pravecek, Ellie Cole and Westlie Cahoy. Fifth Grade Boys High Jump: First Eli Vobr with 3’ 8”, followed by Jonah Musser, Trey Thieman, Lane Leighton and Shae Munroe.
