Winner High School football team opened the season in dominant fashion Friday night as they shut out Mobridge-Pollock 50-0.
The game ended with 4:21 left to play in the fourth quarter due to the mercy rule.
On a beautiful night for football before the home fans at Warrior field the team was clicking on all cylinders.
The final touchdown was by Carter Brickman on a 5 yard run. The Warriors punched in the two point conversion on a run by Matt Smither to end the game.
“It was a good start to the year,” said coach Dan Aaker. “One thing I liked was that we played with emotion from start to finish.”
The Warriors scored 21 points in both the first and second quarters and led 42-0 at the half.
