Two Wrestlers Place at State

Winner Area wrestling team placed two wrestlers, both seniors, at the state tournament this weekend in Rapid City.

Tyrel Haley placed 7th with an 11-9 victory over Luke Bietz of  Parkston.

Jimmy Sharkey took 8th place as he lost to John Hoiten of McCook Central/Montrose.

“It was great to see the two seniors work their way into placing at the state tournament,” said coach Matt Chambers.

“Tyrel and Jimmy are both three time state qualifiers. Kayleb Brozik, Ty Bolton and Cameron Biggins wrestled well and will take this experience and improve for next year,” said Chambers.
