The Winner Junior Teeners downed Chamberlain 18-7 in the Regional tournament in Winner.
“Aaron Gilchrist pitched a gem of game,” said coach Jon Hanson. Brady Fritz and Kameron Meiners came in relief to close out the game.
Leading the way on the offensive side were Brady Fritz with 3 hits and 4 runs, Oscar Pravecek with 3 hits and Colby Kaiser with 4 hits.
Winner’s season came to a close at the hands of Wagner by score of 10-7.
Fritz pitched the entire game and had 5 strikeouts. Fritz and Pravecek each had 2 hits.
“I am proud of the kids for battling all season,” said Hanson. “We ended the season with a record of 14-8 and we only had 2 bad losses on the season.
“It was a pleasure coaching these boys. I saw improvement in every single one of the players from the beginning to the end of the season,” said Hanson.
