County audit to start

Toby Qualm of the South Dakota Department of Legislative Audit told the Tripp County Commissioners Feb. 25 that the audit for 2017 and 2018 has started.

Qualm presented a letter of engagement for the commissioners to approve.

Highway superintendent Roger Sund presented fuel quotes. The commissioners accepted the quote of Schaeffer Oil for $2.08 a gallon.

The commissioners authorized Brosz Engineering of Pierre, to inspect some bridges in Tripp County.

The inventory for deletion, surplus or transfer of county items was approved.

The commissioners met in executive session.

The next meeting will be held March 10 at 10 a.m.

This week, the president addressed the nation regarding the U.S. response to the outbreak.

So far, officials have determined more than 80,000 cases globally – the majority of them in China.

Hammerbeck scores her 1000th point

Morgan Hammerbeck, a senior on the Winner girls basketball team, scored her 1,000th point in a basketball game Thursday in Winner. Making the presentation is girls basketball coach Larry Aaker.

Winner Lady Warriors fought their way back from behind to defeat Miller 54-45 on Feb 25 in Winner.

The Lady Warriors found themselves down early as Miller took a 17-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Little Cheer Camp

Girls who attended a Little Cheer camp in Winner performed at the halftimes of the boys and girls basketball games on Thursday. There were 90 girls who attended the Little Cheer Camp which was held Feb. 22.
