The opening kickoff set the tone for the game as the Winner Warriors defeated Wagner 56-6 Friday night. The No. 2 rated Warriors improved their record to 3-0.
The game ended with 2:44 left to play in the fourth quarter due to the mercy rule.
Lattrell Terkildsen took the opening kickoff and ran 90 yards for the touchdown to open the game. This was the first of 28 points that Winner scored in the first quarter.
“That opening kickoff was a great start to the game,” said coach Dan Aaker. “We played a well rounded game with a special teams touchdown, a defensive TD and a defensive interception by Windsor Barry for a TD. It is not very often that you see all three areas be able to score a touchdown,” said the coach.
