Carol King was name the 2015 outstanding member of the Tripp County Historical Society. She received the award at the organization’s annual meeting on Jan. 10.
King was helping plant flowers and trees and working in the Jubilee Park before she was a board member.
After becoming a board member she helped in the museum with the pie and ice cream socials and also the soup suppers. She also gave her time to painting the outside of buildings such as the Cashett house and the depot.
King helps with cleaning in the spring and putting items away in the fall.
She volunteers to help in whatever needs to be done. She helped with the Labor Day weekend car show which was held at the museum this year.
One of her projects was to have Colome students put the Tripp County historical books on a disk so there would be a record and be able to find the books easier.
King is a big promoter of the historical society.
