Junior Skylar Forgey of Colome broke the Dakota Wesleyan University school record in the 800 meter and 1,000 meter runs at the South Dakota State University Invitational on Feb. 14.
Forgey finished 17th in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3 minutes and 3.47 seconds which left her just .07 seconds from qualifying for the NAIA indoor championships.
Forgey added a 23rd place finish in the 800 in a time of 2:21.50.
At the SDSU event, there were more than 40 teams from NCAA and NAIA.
