Colome High School football team opened the season Friday night with a 34-22 victory over Corsica/Stickney.
The first points on the board were put up by Corsica/Stickney but the Cowboys came back to tie the score at 8-8 on a 9 yard run by Kelly O’Bryan. The two point conversion was a pass from Reed Harter to Will Cahoy.
The Cowboys scored 14 points in the second quarter.
Jackson Kinzer scored on a 22 yard pass from Harter. The extra point was Harter on a run.
Corsica/Stickney came back to tie the game at 16-16 but Jackson Kinzer had a huge 92 yard kickoff return for touchdown and the Cowboys never looked back after that.
Colome led at the half 22-16.
There was no scoring in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Harter scored on a 1 yard run. This was set up by a fumble recovery by Koty Dougherty. The final Colome TD was on a 15 yard run by Harter.
