Winner/Colome baseball team defeated Chamberlain 9-1 April 18 at Leahy Bowl in Winner.

Drew DeMers earned the win pitching five innings and giving up 1 run on 3 hits 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.  Riley Calhoon pitched the last two innings and give up no run, no hits, no walks and had five strikeouts.

At the plate, Calhoon had 3 singles, 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 3 stolen bases.  DeMers had 2 singles and 2 RBIs.  Holden Thieman and Levi McClanahan each had doubles.

Matt Campbell unleashed a huge discus throw at the Freeman Flyer Invitational on April 20.

The Colome senior won first place with a throw of 174-1, setting a new Colome school record.

This is Campbell’s personal best and he is leading the state in all classes in the discus.

The Cowboys placed fourth at the meet.

Winner Area golf team won the Big Dakota tournament in Pierre on April 20.

Ronae Klein led the Lady Warriors as she placed second with a 96.

Liz Jankauskas took 5^th with a 98; Addy Root, 6^th, 100; Sam Marts, 7^th, 102 and Cheyenne Dougherty, 9^th, 115.

The next meet be April 28 at Gregory.

Winner boys won the elite class medley relay with a time of 3:45.77 at the Corn Palace Relays in Mitchell on Thursday. Runners were Riley Calhoon, Drew DeMers, Cameron Kuil and Kayleb Brozik .

Cameron Kuil won the 100-meter dash.

Colome’s Matt Campbell threw the discus 169 feet-three inches to win the boys discus at the Menno Relays.

Campbell’s toss was the longest toss in Class B so far this season.

Holden Thieman won the long jump with a leap of 19-08.25.

In the girls event, Callie Heath won the 400 in 1:05.88 and Jaclyn Laprath won the 3200 in 13:07.01.

The Winner High School boys and girls track team competed in the Miller Quad track meet on April 11.

Ronae Klein was the medalist at the Mobridge golf meet on Thursday. Klein shot an 86.

The Winner Area golf team took first place at its first meet of the season.

Kiersten Durrin shot a 139.

The next meet for the Winner team will be April 20 at the Big Dakota in Pierre. On April 24, the girls team will travel to Chamberlain.

Winner/Colome baseball team scored 10 runs in the first two innings to defeat Todd County 11-0 on Saturday in Mission.
Holden Thieman earned the win for the Royals as he pitched all five innings and gave up no runs, 2 hits, 7 strikeouts.

Winner/Colome baseball team blanked Chamberlain 14-0 Sunday in Chamberlain.

The Royal’s Drew DeMers and Levi McClanahan combined to throw a no-hitter.

McClanahan earned the win. He threw three innings and striking out six. DeMers struck out two batters in the two innings he pitched in relief.

Kelly O’Bryan went 4-4 at the plate and drove in two runs and scored three times.

The Royals scored six runs in the third inning in the five inning game.

The Winner boys track team won the Todd County Invitational April 6 in Mission. The Warriors score 149 points and second place went to Todd County with 113 points.

The Winner girls track team took second place with 101 points with Todd County girls as the champs with 144 points

The Winner boys 800 relay team set a state qualifying time of 1:32.39 and took first place in this race.
