On June 7, Bennett County defeated the Royals 16-6 in five innings.
On the mound for Winner/Colome were Matt Campbell with 2 innings; Jordan Turgeon, 1 2/3 innings and Biggins with 1 1/3 inning.
Leading hitters were O’Bryan and DeMers both with 2 RBI single.
Winner-Colome Legion baseball team defeated Gregory 7-5 on June 8.
“We had a nice bounce back win over Gregory after a poor outing against Martin,” said coach Drew Weber.
Kelly O’Bryan pitched 6 1/3 innings with 4 runs (3 earned), 4 hits, 7 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Cameron Biggins earned the win in relief as he pitched 2/3 of an inning with Reed Harter earning the save as he pitched 2 innings and had 6 strikeouts.
At the plate, Biggins had 3 singles and 2 RBIs; Harter, a single, 3 walks and 2 runs scored and Drew DeMers, a single with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs.
Colome Teeners fell in the consolation championship of the Winner tournament this weekend at Leahy Bowl.
Sunday afternoon in an exciting 5th place game, Colome fell 13-10 to Parkston in 8 innings.
In the semifinal game, Colome defeated Onida 16-9.
Winner Junior Teeners shut out Colome 14-0 on June 6 in Colome.
Kameron Meiners was the winning pitcher as he threw four shut out innings. Fred Whiting pitched one inning.
Losing pitcher was Adam Cole.
Oscar Pravecek had 5 RBIs and Meiners had two hits to lead Winner.
It was a wild ride to the state B championship but Winner/Colome baseball team proved they have what it takes to make big comebacks and impressive plays.
After coming from behind in the Region 4B title game against St. Thomas More and rallying for a 4-3 win in marathon 13 innings over Dell Rapids in the first game of the state tournament in Sioux Falls, the Royals hung on to win the championship 5-4 over West Central.
Winner Area girls golf team placed second at the Region 3A tournament May 31 in Mitchell.
The Lady Warriors shot a 418 and qualified the entire team for the state tournament which was held June 6-7 in Hot Springs.
Ronae Klein finished in 4th place with a 92

Addy Root placed 8th with a 102 and Liz Jankauskas was 9th with a 106. Sam Marts placed 16th with a 118.
The golfers going to state are: Ronae Klein, Addy Root, Liz Jankauskas, Sam Marts and Cheyenne Dougherty.

Winner/Colome amateur baseball team defeated the Mitchell Maddogs 11-1 Sunday afternoon at Leahy Bowl in Winner.
Austin Calhoon was the winning pitcher who came in in relief of Drew Weber.
The Pheasants will play in Platte on Thursday.
Winner/Colome Legion baseball team opened the season last Wednesday with a 10-3 victory over Mission at Leahy Bowl.
On the mound, Drew DeMers earned the win as he pitched 3 2/3 innings. Jordan Turgeon pitched 2 2/3 innings and Campbell pitched 1 inning.
Winner Teeners defeated Onida 9-4 on Thursday at Leahy Bowl. Riley Calhoon was the winning pitcher.
The varsity Teeners played two games in Deadwood on Sunday.
In the first game, Winner lost to Lead/Deadwood 5-4. Carter Brickman was the losing pitcher.
In the second game, Rapid City defeated Winner 11-6. Bolton was the losing pitcher.
The next action for the Teeners will be Thursday in Valentine and this weekend in Winner is the Teener tournament.
Winner/Colome baseball team scored four runs in the first inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over West Central to claim the club baseball team’s first ever state title Monday at Sioux Falls Stadium.
