Golfers place in Pierre

Winner High School boys golf team placed fourth in the pre-regional in Pierre on Sept. 23. The Warriors shot a 377.

The Big Dakota Conference meet was held the same day as the pre-regional. The Warriors took second in the Big Dakota behind Chamberlain who won first place.

Gage Watson of Winner, Parkston’s Braden Bruening and Parkston’s Kaleb Weber tied for 5th place with an 84 in the pre-regional.

Also placing for Winner in the pre-regional were: Karson Keiser, 17th, 92; Aiden Barfuss, 20th, 98; Max Brozik, 23rd, 101; Jayd Whitley, 24, 101; Ryder Halligan, 25th, 102 and Landon Calhoon, 29th, 106.

Parkston won the pre-regional title.

In the Big Dakota tournament, Watson took second place.

Keiser was in the top 10 as he took 7th place.

Also placing in the Big Dakota were Barfuss, 11th; Max Brozik, 14th; Whitley, 15th; Halligan, 16th and Calhoon, 18th.

The Region 3A meet was held Sept. 30 in Pierre.

The state golf meet will be Oct. 7-8 in Vermillion.
