Watzel Named Athlete of the Week

The KSYF Taco John’s athlete of the week was Tristan Watzel, a senior wrestler from Winner High School.  He proves that winning records and state championships aren’t the only criteria to make you a true champion.

Winner High School senior wrestler Tristan Watzel hadn’t won a match in his high school career. The sport was made more challenging since Watzel has limited use of his right arm and leg due to an accident when he was young. However, Watzel got his first win in this match by a fall on senior night on Tuesday, Jan. 31 in Winner’s dual against a classy Chamberlain team and the place went nuts.

Tristan competed in both football and wrestling all four years of high school for that perseverance and for staying with it despite everything life throws at you sometime.
